Saigon

SaiGon, also known as Ho Chi Minh City was our first stop in Vietnam. We arrived in February shortly after the TET New Year Holiday and the weather was warm. Our Hotel, Liberty 6 was situated very close to the Ben Than Market.

Hoi An

HoiAn was my favourite place in Vietnam and I would gladly go back again and I would be happy to stay at the same hotel - Vinh Hung Resort. I liked the atmosphere at Hoi An and at the Vinh Hung Resort. I liked the stroll along and across the canal every day and I liked to walk around the town. There is much I didn't see this time - I didn't even get to the beach.

Ha Noi

HaNoi was a more stern place than Saigon and Hoi An. It was overcast the whole time we were there and this probably added to the stern atmosphere. Apart from a visit to Halong Bay and Cuc Phuong National Park we stayed in the city until it was time to leave.

We cruised Halong Bay on the Emeraude, a refurbished paddle steamer. We spent the night on the boat. Phil is wearing his new suit from Hoi An and matching moustache.
